Missions Weekend April 2008

WOW! What a weekend. We had a great time with; James Buckner, Stan Pawlowski, Dan and Crissy Brinker, and Laura May, (Pastor Jerry also reported of his trip to Uganda.) James was the keynote speaker through much of the weekend. Friday night was great 66 people attended in the youth room. We used all our cool multi-media stuff and you could actually see the faces of the Uganda People from Pastor Jerry's recent trip there. Dinner Friday night with all the missionaries, Saturday AM (I mean before anyone should be up - 6:30am) breakfast and a devotional before going to Ft. Inn to work on a habitat for humanity house. Saturday PM dessert and question time (very relaxed atmosphere.) Then Sunday was regular schedule only with missionaries throughout the different Sunday School's.

What makes a good decision?

Proverbs 16:3 puts it this way: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."

Easter Sunday

Not a typical Easter Sunday. I was looking forward to going to church and sitting back without much responibility. But Nick was jumped by three guys. They broke his jaw in 3 different places along with a broken nose and a hit to his left eye. He has lost one tooth and has to have surgery sometime early this week.

Nate, Molly, Renee, Ryan and Dana all came over to see Nick and support him. That is what family is all about. C's mom came over for lunch and then Carolyn and her mom went out to the cemetary.

"look at this" - maybe the grown-ups in our church could use a little reminder that teens can do great things. Prayer Request - Samuel Streit

Samuel Streit, Jim and Stephanie's oldest son, has been admitted to Greenville Memorial with pneumonia and is currently being monitored in ICU. His condition is stable and he is responding well to treatment. Please keep the entire family in your prayers.
